After reading all over the net about the Christmas rush and all the video games it had to offer, it was very obvious to me that Modern Warfare 2 probably got the most of the winnings during this time. Apparently, this is not the case at all. According to December sales numbers, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, along with 2 other Wii based titles, dominated the Christmas rush this year, and much to my surprise, did it in a very stealthy fashion. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was expected in all places all over the world to dominate, but what happened? What happened is that Mario decided it would be funny to pull a Sam Fisher and come at Microsoft and Sony from behind. Here are some of those December number...

People who have modified their Xbox360 console to play homebrew games or illegal Arcade games be aware, your strike will not be for long.
Microsoft is banning all of you as hard as they can.
This was of course highly expected to happen any time soon. There are many ways for Microsoft to detect these modifications, no stealth or anything was implemented (nor is there any will from the dev community to do this considering it would even be possible). Homebrew and Xbox LIVE don't go together, nor should they probably.

The Internet Channel is now free for the Wii once again. It was free for anyone who downloaded it from the beginning of the Wii's reign, all the way till June of 2007, after that it costed everyone else 500 Nintendo Points. If you did end up having to buy the browser, Nintendo is going to set things straight by giving out a free NES game, which is also valued at 500 Points. Nintendo will begin the Free Game Distibution Process in the beginning of October. On another note of the Wii Opera Browser, an update to the Internet Channel this past week added Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 capabilities, which is equivelant to the abilities of Adobe Flash Player 8.

Looks like SEGA have listened to what their fans want and have provided them with a game that takes Sonic back to his roots. Codenamed "Project Needlemouse", it's slated for a 2010 release. No platforms have been announced yet, but if the "HD" is anything to go by, then 360 and PS3 are a safe assumption, if not also the Wii.
The official trailer is quite possibly the worst trailer in history, however I have provided a link to it below. So what do you think? Good idea, bad idea? Too little too late? I'll leave you guys to decide.

| A while back I won a modest on-site SSBB tourney (Diddy Kong FTW). The
prize was a VC game of my choice, sponsored by the tourney's host. I
thought about it for a few minutes, then when Star Fox 64 crossed my
mind I instantly made it up. Did I make a wise decision? Read on.
